Ayurveda Health Consultation
What does an Ayurvedic consultation consist of?
A one-on-one 90-minute consultation to establish a person’s constitution and identify their balances and imbalances. By way of a thorough eight-fold exam (called Ashtavidha Pariksha) the practitioner examines the pulse, tongue, eyes, skin, and inquires about other areas of body and bodily functions in order to identify which Ayurvedic practices may be adopted to reclaim balance. These may include daily self-care routines, better nutrtional choices, yoga and pranayama techniques, meditation, and movement practices, as well as natural herbal remedies.
First consult: 160$ (90mins) — Follow-up: 105$ (60mins)
What is Ayurveda?
आयुर्वेद – Āyurveda
Ayurveda is a Sanskrit word derived from 2 roots: Ayur, meaning life, daily living; and Veda, meaning knowledge. Its roots are grounded in ancient Vedic science and approaches health, wellness, illness, and disease through macro-observations in nature, the universe, our cosmos, and their direct micro-relations to the body, the mind, and spirit.
It focuses on prevention and the body’s natural power to heal itself. Ayurveda teaches that by identifying the root cause of an imbalance, not the symptoms, the body can heal itself. In Ayurveda, healing starts from within.
